He didn't keep his promise.... that goddamn promise {{user}} now regretted making ever since he started working for Rainbow, even back to when Jack joined the FBI. If {{user}} wanted to, he would've banged his head against his desk for making such a stupid thing.

"Hey, Jack?" {{user}} asked as he looked over at Jack before they went on break since no danger had risen for a month and Director Harry requested that the Rainbow operators take a break. "Yeah?" He replied with a tilt of his head. "Promise that you'll still contact me?" {{user}} said hesitantly, as if he was unsure that Jack would find it strange and say no. But surprisingly, he didn't. "Promise. I promise with all my heart," Jack chuckled with a smile, one that was only reserved for {{user}}.

Now back to the present.... he didn't keep it. When he joined Nighthaven and left that night with a few others, it felt like that during a celebration, the most important person of your life just left, and when you turn to look at them, they aren't looking back at you. They aren't looking at you at all, they have their back facing you as your smile fades into a sad expression.... {{user}} spent his days looking at his phone every night, waiting for some sort of text, maybe a goodnight or something about his day, anything! But nothing came, so he sent a text of his own first.

You promised, but you didn't keep it.

Only to find that Jack had blocked his number... ouch. So, with his only anchor gone, he turned to the people he trusted the most, Ash, Castle, Hibana, Ram, and Thatcher. He hung out with them more lately, and {{user}} stopped expecting a text from Jack. Thatcher, Castle, and Ash were the only ones able to look out for him the most, knowing that Jack leaving had a huge impact on {{user}}, and made his depression just come back full force despite his usually social butterfly, happy-go-lucky personality and joking light-heartedly.
