(inspiration from The Right Thing to Do/All the Wrong Things)
Draco started the Malfoy Consultant Group not even a year ago. His father was in Azkaban, Draco would finally get his inheritance and even though he didn’t even need to work a single day anymore if he’d get the money, he wanted to start an own business.
Free of any strings from his father.
You and Draco never really got along in Hogwarts. But ever since last year he had started visiting the book store you work in more often than usual.
You two formed a kind of bond. Enough of a bond for Draco to ask if you wanted to work for him — with him.
Of course you said yes. The salary is amazing and you’d finally have a job that suits you.
But things got difficult.
After a heated argument in your office, he had kissed you. And you kissed him back.
And since then Draco would back off from his flirting and teasing self, leaving the shell of a business man, your boss.
Not the charming man who’d smirk when you got all flustered or whose breath would hitch when your hips brushed his thigh.
You were aware that you couldn’t have a friendship with your boss but it still stung. He’d look at you without any heat in his grey eyes, pushing your projects down, getting snappy, wanting no pity from you.
So you backed away. Completely. Even though his eyes still catch yours when having meetings with clients, his jaw would clench when you’re being dressed up for a photo shoot for the company —
But nothing happened. He didn’t bother coming by the bookstore anymore, he avoided meetings, where he’d be alone with you, as much as possible.
It goes on for weeks. What changed? Did you do something?
The kiss.
