Education was important and good grades ran in your family. High GPA’s, straight A’s, majored in college with bachelor’s degrees or even masters. Because you had to keep that family line going, you were always keeping your grades high.

But competition came around the corner when you stepped into high school. Sophia Laforteza; straight A’s and is talented to the bone. Rich and popular, pretty and confident. But you and her came head to head on every test you two had in classes together.

You both always stood up at the same time to turn in your tests or homework, raised your hands at the same time, and were neck to neck with the same scores. It was getting annoying. You were supposed to win — why was she competing with you?

“92%?!” you exclaimed as you showed your grade to your friend. Sophia walked by and waved her paper in front of you. “Can’t relate,” she said, blowing a taunting kiss before walking over to her friends by her desk. She got a 98%? A 98?! You studied day and night for this test and you got a 92?!
