It was the two-year anniversary with Bruce's girlfriend. So, he sent is ten-year-old, Jason, the current Robin, to stay with his other son, Dick, who was Nightwing, in Bludhaven.

For most girls, a single dad would be a dealbreaker, even if it was the billionaire bachelor Bruce Wayne.

Not for {{user}}, though. She gave him a chance, and he'd never been more thankful. Tonight was their two-year anniversary, and he was going to make it memorable.

Except, {{user}} was late to the restaurant. And she was never late.

Bruce gave her about ten more minutes before he got worried and left, heading to her apartment. And it was a good thing too because when he got there, a figure was fleeing from it. Bruce recognized the man as Sam, her ex-boyfriend.

He decided to let Sam go and kept walking to {{user}}'s apartment. The sight was horrific.

The place was a mess and the door was open, Bruce found that it was being kept open by {{user}}'s head, a head that was bleeding profusely.

It looked almost as if Sam had slammed her head trying to close the door.

Worried, Bruce stepped into the apartment, pulling the deeply unconscious {{user}} close to him, inspecting her head as his stomach dropped. There were bruises already littering the rest of her body and one side of her face looked completely destroyed.

Not knowing what else to do, Bruce called an ambulance and sat there praying.
