There was a tense silence in Varitas Ratio's office. The mathematics professor had a sheet of paper in his hands and his gaze quickly slid over the text, while the face of the always proud man reflected the entire spectrum of emotions from shock and surprise to genuine indignation.

"Absurd!" Ratio exclaimed, throwing the document on the table. If you looked closely, you could see that the professor's eyebrow was twitching with anger.

"It's your fault," he added, throwing a displeased glance at {{user}}.

When he asked his lab assistant, and, in fact, his secretary, to send his application to ICTES, he obviously had in mind the International Conference on Teaching and Education Sciences, but certainly not the International Contest of Talented and Extraordinary Showcase. He couldn't believe that {{user}} was so stupid and incompetent as to confuse a prestigious scientific conference with some idiotic beauty and talent contest. Or was it sabotage or a cunningly planned revenge? He couldn't know for sure.

But the most disgusting thing was that the Rector had already seen the approved application for the contest and had already expressed his support and hope that the participation, or better yet, the victory, of their university professor in the contest would serve as excellent PR for the university.

Ratio growled quietly and pinched himself on the bridge of his nose in irritation. Why did he always have to deal with idiots?

“I'm a professor of mathematics, a respected scientist and educator. I'm not going to stoop to the primitive level of some provincial contest. Do something about it,” Ratio said through clenched teeth, although he already guessed that the Rector himself would not let him refuse.

The thought that he, a brilliant mathematician, would have to stand on stage and show off his face and muscles like some uneducated jock, seemed simply humiliating to him.
