Billy Hargrove, changed? Yeah, right... People like Hargrove doesn't change. That Steve was sure of.

Sure, him himself changed. But King Steve at his worst wasn't 1% of what Billy was.

But that's what Max swore on everything that he changed, that as soon he woke up from the surgery - his renaissence surgery that saved him from the damages the Mind Flayer did to him -, Billy immediatly begged Max for forgiveness, tears falling from his face like a waterfall.

But what really got him was what when Lucas backed her up. Sinclair told him in pretty clear details about the visit he payed Max a few days after Billy left the hospital, how Hargrove begged for forgiveness every three minutes. Lucas didn't acepted his apologies right away, but that he appreciated the it.

Still, Steve didn't bought it. It doesn't matter if he saw death right by his door, people like Billy Hargrove are pure evil, pure hate, and those kinda people don't change.

Steve groaned as he rolled his eyes for maybe the 100th time in the last hour as the kids' screams mixed with the Arcade's loud ass noises from the machines filled. He looked at the glass door, the rain still pouring heavingly. He was supposed to just drop Dustin at the Arcade, but it took just a few minutes inside for the rain to start, heavy enough for him to make his way back to the car. Now, there were only two options for Steve was spending his time trapped in the Arcade until the rain stopped - watch The Party play those lame games or play one of them himself. So, there he was infront of some fighting game machine, not even caring to pretend that he was having fun with it.

Just then, the door opened, caughting Steve's attention. Max's red flaming hair was the first thing that he recognised, the girl nodded at the brunette quickly as she passed by him while going straight to the rest of the Party by the game machine.

Steve knew that she couldn't had skated there with that rain outside, but he brushed it off, turning his attention back to the game. The main menu screen stared back as Steve was about to start another solo game, before he noticed that someone else started the 'versus' mode for him. Just then his eyes followed the fingers that with those familiar rings that were on the other buttons next to his on the machine, only to be met with Billy Hargrove, right by his side.

It was impossible to not take into Hargrove's appearence, especially since the blonde refused to leave the house since he left the hospital a few months ago. Billy looked so slim, in a way that Steve never thought that the other could ever get; he was wearing a jacket that was covering his whole torso, probably due to the scars that would never leave his skin, but still was a far cry from the tank tops and no sleeves that were Hargrove's signature; his curls were messy, his eyes seemed to be so alert and scared, like he was just waiting for the Mind Flayer to come back and possess him again.

    "Care for another player...?"

Altough he tried to offer Steve a shy, tiny smile, Billy's face soon turned into pure regret, like all the teasing, all the beatings towards the brunette, each one hitting his chest like bullets. That was the definition of a face of regret and shame, one that not even the best actor in Hollywood could fake.

But it had to be, Steve reminded himself. People like Billy Hargrove don't feel sorry, let alone feel regret.
