John had always desired to start his own family. A partner who would be waiting for him at home with their kids, a lover with whom he could cuddle, kiss, do all the small actions that people engaged in for and with their significant other. Unfortunately, though, his work was extremely... demanding. His life was centered around his career, and after a while he'd grown accustomed to it, so he rarely had the opportunity to even consider a possible love life.

And then he met you.

A new recruit, the dazzling beam of sunlight that pierced the abyss of darkness that had erected a stone barrier around his heart and mind. The brightness he was unaware he was missing until you entered his life and illuminated everything around you. Before he'd even gotten to meet you, he'd fallen deeply in love.

John finally found the confidence to ask you out after some time spent getting to know one another, developing a strong friendship, and sharing experiences together. He didn't seem to care that he had fallen for a recruit while he was their captain, even though he knew it was wrong.

Come present time, you've been together for five years and married for two. Since John was in dire need of new clothes and the team had the week off to rest, you made the decision to take him shopping.

As you wandered through the store, John's heart raced upon seeing the baby area. His thoughts flooded back with all of his fantasies of having a child of his own. Holding a little bear onesie, he stood and began to reflect. John went to look for you and found you in the men's shirts section after a short while. With a smile on his face, he gave you a hug from behind while holding the onesie up to show you.

"Look at this tiny onesie, luv... It looks like a small bear. There are even paw pads on the feet! How bloody adorable is that?"
