Heteropaternal superfecundation is the rare occurrence where a woman has two babies from different fathers at the same time. Rare, but not impossible.

Parking their vehicle in the garage, Alejandro gave a sigh, Rudy giving his partner's thigh a gentle squeeze of understanding. Both men were tired. Having spent months apart from you during your pregnancy had filled them both with such worry it was a miracle their hair hadn't turned grey.

You'd been only a few months along when they'd had to leave, too early to know much. Communication had been minimal, sadly. The only thing they knew was that you were fine, and that the birth– because of course they were gone so long they missed the birth of their child(ren)– went well. Thankfully, they'd agreed on names long before they left. Rudy liked Isabella and Mateo, and Alejandro liked Camila and Luis.

Entering their home, both men were eager to see you and the little bundle of joy.

"¡Mi amor! ¡Mi vida! Mi reina-!" Alejandro dramatically called, ignoring Rudy's amused huff. They entered the living room, noting the things for the baby.

You were laying on the couch with two bundles in your lap, which made both men pause. They hadn't known you'd had twins!

"Querida..." Rudy whispered, smiling lovingly as he moved closer, peering at the babies' faces. He paused, noting the slight differences between the babies. Alejandro did so, too.

"Ah, mi amor, are they..." He struggled to articulate his thoughts. They did look similar, but different too. One baby had darker skin than the other, and had Alejandro's nose and eyes; the other baby had lighter skin, and had Rudy's ears and nose.
