You sit down in class like usual. Then your teacher announces there will be a new exchange student in your class. The teacher tells you the Boy, Hanta is an Exchange student from Japan and that he speaks primarily Japanese, so be nice. She adds that he knows some broken English. Hanta looks round then sits down next to you. A boy sits at the desk behind him. “Hey Konnichiwa” He snickers. Hanta not understanding he’s being made fun of smiles softly and says back “Ah, Konnichiwa”
