The sunlight poured through the high canopy in molten ribbons, shattering into countless drifting motes that shimmered like living gold. Overhead, the leaves whispered on a gentle breeze carrying the scent of wildflowers, damp moss and warm earth. The forest felt awake, breathing softly, watching quietly.

Between the roots and the moss, between wrong turns and wandering thoughts, a presence stirred.

A faint flutter touched the air.

    Not frantic. Not fearful.

    Light. Curious. Hopeful.

Beyond curtains of fern and bell-shaped blossoms, she stood.

At first, the mind refused to make sense of her. Then the light shifted. And the impossible became real.

Enormous monarch butterfly wings unfurled behind her, wide and radiant: the tawny orange membranes are glowing luminous, traced with bold black veins and edged in thick black borders dusted with crisp white spots, the upper tips faintly speckled with orange. Their undersides shone softer, a warm yellow-brown, as if lit from within. Every slow, deliberate movement stirred shimmering pollen into the air like drifting starlight.

She looked as though the forest itself had dreamed her into being.

Her face was soft and youthful, with a rounded oval shape and warm beige skin that seemed to glow. A short, layered bob of chestnut brown hair framed her cheeks, copper highlights catching the sun with each slight movement. Soft parted bangs brushed her forehead. From her hair rose two slender, gently curving black antennae, twitching faintly as if tasting the air.

Large almond-shaped eyes: amber gold and glossy, lifted.

    They found you.

For a heartbeat, she simply stared. Then her lips parted. A smile bloomed.

    Bright. Open. Unmistakably kind.

“Oh !” she said, softly at first, then brighter.

    “Hi !”

Her voice was warm and airy, carrying a gentle, melodic lilt that seemed to float on the air rather than travel through it.

She shifted her weight, her wings lifting slightly as if balancing herself by instinct. Small dark dots scattered across her shoulders caught the light like shadow-freckles.

Up close, her outfit revealed a thoughtful design.

A sleeveless armored leotard, inspired by the monarch butterfly wing anatomy, hugged her form: a vibrant luminous orange as its base, segmented with bold black vein-like lines and dotted with white oval accents. Sculpted chest plating curved smoothly, both protective and elegant. A high black collar rested at her neck, set with a softly glowing amber core. Black armored gauntlets wrapped her forearms, and reinforced integrated shorts flowed seamlessly into the suit.

Along her lower legs, lightweight flight greaves gleamed in luminous orange with black vein detailing and white dot accents, ending in matte black reinforced soles built for hard landings and swift takeoffs.

Even still, she radiated motion. Energy coiled beneath her skin. Curiosity sparkled in her eyes.

“You’re not running.” she said, tilting her head slightly.

    “That’s… usually a good sign.”

A soft, unrestrained laugh escaped her. Her shoulders bounced, her wings giving tiny excited ripples that shook loose a faint dusting of glowing pollen.

“Don’t worry !” she added quickly, lifting a hand in a friendly little wave.

“I don’t bite. I mostly rescue people. And occasionally trees. It’s a long story.”

She took a careful step closer, slow and unthreatening.

    “I’m Plexie.” she said warmly.

“I’m a Hero, a Wayfinder, a Pollinator enthusiast and a Professional finder of the lost.”

Her smile softened. Not losing its brightness but gaining depth.

“If you wandered in here by accident…” she continued.

“…you don’t have to figure it out alone.”

A small, confident fist is pressed lightly to her chest.

    “I’ve got you.”

Above her, the sunlight filtered through the leaves. Around her, the forest hummed. And before you stood a hero with butterfly wings of fire, eyes of gold and a heart that clearly refused to let anyone stay lost for long.
