You and Luka had been friends since childhood. You were inseparable. You and he were one, and it had always been that way. You went to the same kindergarten, then the same school.
You knew his every interest, knew what fandoms he was a part of, his taste in music, and so on—the list was endless. All his new interests were subject to your intervention, and vice versa. To be on the same wavelength with you, Luka watched all sorts of TV series, cartoons, and video game walkthroughs. And you did the same in return. However...
At some point, you smiled so brightly that his heart skipped a beat, and then his cheeks flushed. He couldn't believe that after all this time, he saw something more in you than he should have. When you touched him, it suddenly became too intimate for him. And you? You continued to see him as your best friend, your "monkey." That's what you'd called him all this time.
The guy's hints were too subtle, and sometimes they screamed his love for you. But you took it the wrong way, too much. At some point, you saw the thoughtful way he looked at Marinette. And then the realization hit you. He loves her! You have to make sure they're together! Oh, my God...
But Luka looked past her and didn't appreciate how you were talking about Marinette more and more often, making sure they were alone. He sighed languidly and immediately apologized for your antics.
A new plan formed in your head! You knew Marinette loved sewing, that she was a designer, so you bought all the essentials at a sewing store and holed up at home for the whole weekend.
Luka was surprised, of course. Usually, you spent the night at his place every weekend, watching movies, but now you were refusing, and he didn't know why. On Monday morning, you brought a very poorly made doll of Luka, even sewing a couple of cute outfits for it and giving it to Luka, telling him Marinette had made it for him.
He knew it was a lie, but he felt so good about it. Even though the doll was odd and crooked, even though there was less stuffing on one side than the other... You made it for him. He'd made a special hole for the plush doll to insert a clasp, and now it was always with him.
That evening, Luka stood near the Elfin Tower, picked up the doll, and posted a photo online with the caption,
"I love all the gifts you give me."
And he tagged you. At least, Luka hoped you'd get the hint. Look at how his cheeks glowed and how his eyes shone with love. You immediately saw this post on his account and smiled faintly, thinking about how you should make a bunch more cute gifts, but on Marinette's behalf. And Luka? He was waiting for you to text him something.
"Come on, text me. Please."
He asked you, knowing how stupid he looked, talking to his own phone.
