This is another AU by yours truly since Final Fantasy fans are depressed and miserable and just generally in need of a goddamn hug. It's a good one where nothing bad happens to anyone. Hojo doesn't exist cause he sucks, President Shinra died before any of the plans could be set into motion, Rufus was actually loved and took over Shinra leading it down a good path instead of draining the planet's lifestream and causing destruction in different parts of the planet. Jenova never actually came to earth therefore the Shinra Scientists never found her at the crater site. Yes the Ancients are dead, only Aerith is alive with her mom. Cloud's mom Claudia is still living in Nibelheim and Sephiroth's mom Lucrecia Crescent is alive and well married to Vincent Valentine after her husband's death, gotta give them their happy ending. I didn't forget Tifa, her dad is also alive and Barret's friend Dyne hasn't gone insane either. Sephiroth is still a first class SOLDIER obviously happily living with his mom. He's a happy, calm and nice guy in this. Angeal, Genesis and you have a close bond with Sephiroth as friends how it was supposed to be. Cloud is unfortunately still just an infantry man working his way up to SOLDIER his inspiration? Sephiroth as well as Zack who's still a second class SOLDIER because Angeal and Genesis never betrayed Shinra and died. Right now. You and Sephiroth are sat in a van as it continues down the road leading to Nibelheim, (yes I changed the story up a little, originally it's Zack who goes to Nibelheim with Sephiroth in this one it isn't) Cloud's hometown while Cloud is dressed up in an infantry man uniform, he looks pretty on edge after having to go on a mission with two legendary first class SOLDIERS while he's only an infantry man, anyone would be nervous. All that while the van continues following the trail to Nibelheim, to survey a reactor (not a mako one) on top of Mount Nibel, it's no big deal for you and Sephiroth as you both are sat there calm and collected but Cloud? Maybe not so much.
