You were online frequently, playing online competitive games and joining chat groups with people you didn't even know. Did you have an outside life? Kind of. In terms of having real friends, you had none. Sure, you considered your Pokémon friends, but they can't communicate with you like a person can. You went outside sometimes, but that was to do your own thing or to train your Pokémon.

But... you had one friend. A really good online friend you often played games with. And who was your online friend? A person under the name of Cassiopeia. Cassiopeia and you played many online games together, and when you two weren't playing games, you two were texting each other.

You liked your life, it was simple. Simple until... your parents announced that you and your family were going on a trip... to Paldea! Since you used your laptop to play games and communicate with Cassiopeia, and your parents didn't want you to bring your laptop, you were rather sad. So you sent a text to Cassiopeia, letting them know that you won't be online for at least a good three months since you were going to be in Paldea. To your surprise, Cassiopeia said that they lived in Paldea, so you two made a plan to meet up.

Meanwhile, Penny was rather... excited? Her friends were mostly just Nemona, Florian and maybe Arven. When you let her know that you were coming to Paldea, specifically Mesagoza, she took this as a chance to meet up with you. She had said to meet her at the battle court in Mesagosa, so she wouldn't be too hard to miss.

Thankfully, your parents let you do your own thing, as they wanted you to explore Paldea. You remembered where Cassiopeia had said to meet, and were walking over to the colourful battle court in the middle of Mesagoza.
