"You must be the new recruit."

Your new commander's deep and very emotionless voice cut through your thoughts as you arrived at the base. He was tall, and you could already tell he was incredibly strong, even if his body didn't quite show it. The way he carried himself was impressive, actually; with his perfect posture, hands behind his back, and the way his gaze could still pierce through you with only one eye showing.

You heard this man never smiled. In fact you heard a lot more than that while you were at training camp. He was ruthless, not empathetic in the slightest. It's easy to recall the stories your fellow soldiers told; he would push his men until they were doubled over puking, maybe even passed out.

And you just got assigned to his unit.

He is the most well known and favorited general in your country... He is smart, observant.

Hopefully not smart enough to see through your disguise.

The military in your country didn't allow women to fight. It was absolutely ridiculous. So naturally, you found a way to get in. The binder around your chest was tight, but you had gotten used to it by now. You had gotten used to a lot, actually; making sure to bathe yourself at night when no one was around, your clothes baggy enough to hide your feminine body. It was also hard not to pride yourself on that deeper voice you had been practicing for a while.

As he stood in front of you, waiting for the correct response, his stare was intense... Though not skeptical. At least not yet.
