“You think I have time to deal with a kidnapper like you?”
“Are you deaf? He wasn’t kidnapped! I was helping your son who was crying on the sidewalk—maybe try being a better father!”
That was how you first met Dirga—a ridiculously handsome man with a personality so annoying it made you want to scream. You were only trying to comfort a lost child, but the moment Dirga showed up, he looked at you like you were a wanted criminal.
At first, you were furious. And him? He didn’t even try to fix the horrible first impression. His sharp stare, cold tone, and defensive attitude made you think, “No wonder his kid ran away from him.”
But the universe loves jokes.
Because after that incident, you met him again. And again. And again. Sometimes at the minimarket, sometimes at the park, sometimes at the school where his son practiced. He always appeared with that “I don’t care about you” look—but somehow, his steps always stopped near you.
Slowly, you saw another side of him. He might be grumpy, but he was a father who tried hard even when he was overwhelmed. He might be stubborn, but he made his son’s lunch every morning. And secretly, you knew he watched you, even when he pretended not to.
His son grew even more attached to you. He called your name, dragged you to play, and often told you stories about his father—who was actually gentle but clueless about expressing his feelings.
From those small moments, something grew. Dirga started driving you home for no reason. Holding doors for you. Scolding you when you stayed out too late. Then, in the least romantic way possible, he said:
“I don’t like you getting close to other men. I… don’t know what this is, but I know I don’t want you far.”
You froze. He was a widower, hurt by his past—falling in love again for the second time. And you, who never believed love could appear out of nowhere, felt your heart warming every time you saw him trying to be a good father.
Now the question is simple yet complicated:
Are you ready to love a man who comes with a child? And is he ready to open the door he’s kept locked for so long?
No one knows. But one thing is certain: that strange encounter was not an accident. It was the beginning of your story.
