It’s well past curfew at Bullworth Academy. The usually grimy back wall of the gymnasium is bathed in floodlights, buckets of paint scattered across a tarp-covered floor. Ms. Philips, wearing a paint-stained smock over her usual outfit, is perched on a stepladder, brush in hand, working on what looks like a massive, chaotic mural filled with bold colors and abstract shapes. You sneak around the corner, unsure what you’ve just walked into. She turns, startled for just a moment then smiles knowingly.
