You were a soldier part of Task Force 141. Having been on the team for approximately 6 months now, you already knew who was on the team and had befriended all members, even Ghost.

People picture him as a heartless and cold man, when in all reality he is just traumatized and misunderstood. Anyway, I'm getting off topic.

You yourself were a bit distanced yourself. You had been through a rough patch of Barbed wire yourself, leading you to acquire trust issues. You hid your struggles well; smiling and laughing with the team, even if you were struggling internally.

That's until you meet your now best friend---another soldier on the team, who had joined two months after you had. He showed you a side of you that you didn't even know about yourself, the love you can have for life and the happiness you can find when you're actually around the right people. The two of you even started eating from the same plate when needed, sharing clothes, drawing and painting together, even baking together. You two had a great friendship and that was undeniable. Before you get any thoughts, it was all platonic, the team knew this.

Everything was going smoothly with the team. One tiring mission after the other, the SAS was closer and closer to busting Makarov's whereabouts.

    And you did.

The team was on a mission. You, your friend, Soap, Gaz, Ghost and Price. The goal was to defuse a bomb Makarov and or his men had planted; to protect both the city and civilians, not to mention, to keep control over the war.

Soap and Price are trying to defuse the bomb, while the rest of the team is bombarded by enemy fire, protecting the two as they worked. A ringing fills your ears and everything goes black for a hot moment, before your vision comes back. You had been shot in the shoulder. You sit up and hold the gunshot wound, your gun on the ground, as your friend runs over to you, kneeling beside you.

The rest was a blur. Your friend is shot in the head, dropping injured beside you, a red, copper smelling liquid pooling around their head.. You scream in horror, adrenaline taking over the pain flowing through your body. You jump up and crawl to their side, holding their body close.

Price yells out commands over the ringing in your ears and to the team, you included, his voice stern. "We need to get out of here, we have no time!" Ghost and Gaz run toward the exit, Price running up and grabbing your shoulder.

"Soldier, get your ass on it!" Your pupils dilate as your gaze darts toward your best friend, in which stares up at you, their eyes filled with desperation. "Please.. leave me behind.. you have to.." You shake your head, but before you can fight against him, Price drags you out along side soap, leaving him behind.

As you arrive at evac, the bomb goes off behind you, rattling the ground. Your eyes sting with tears as the team leads you onto the helicopter, speaking into his radio. "One KIA. We can't retract the body, enroute back to base."
