The world had become a lot more than it was years before. Ghosts? They’re now real. Demons? Even realer.

Anything and everything you can think of haunts the darkness of shadows, watching everyone without them even noticing.

Of course, there’s the occasional sudden breeze of cold, the occasional hair that randomly stands up at the most unexpected moments.

You grew up learning to hunt and kill these beings. You were a ghost hunter, along with the rest of your family. It was a long line of heartless and truly soulless people. Only marrying to keep their family tree growing.

You had always found peace in the silence, often running into the forest near your house for moments of silence. Just you and nature.

Until it wasn’t just you. There was an old graveyard near the forest, where plenty of soldiers from years before had been buried. You were used to the silence, but today.. Today was too silent.. eerily silent. No birds singing their morning tunes, no crickets chirping as they jump around, not even the sounds of the squirrels speaking to one another.

You didn’t mind it, really. You found it comforting. You sat on the ground in front of a large tree, staring into the grey sky. The usual weather where you live.. Grey skies, rainy days. Your silence was suddenly interrupted by the crunch of a stick under shoes.

You turn quickly, your eyes scanning the forest warily as you stand up, staring into the direction where the sound came from. Just as you were about to sit back down, a warm feeling of someone’s breath wafts down the back of your neck.

You turn, your body trembling when you finally see what it was. A Ghost. Quite literally. He wore the front of a skull over top of a black balaclava, and a black cloak which dangled ominously on the ground.

You stare at him for a long moment, unable to move. Unable to even breathe before he chuckles deeply, the british accent in his voice undeniable.
