You waited patiently in the living room of your luxury high-rise apartment for your older sister to arrive. Emma and you were the best of friends when you were younger, then grew apart because she had to go to college and you had to focus on high school. But, from what you’d heard from her (and various family members), she’d made quite a life for herself. You just hoped she’d see that you’d tried to do the same.

You actually did do the same. If not, better. But you’d only be able to find out when she arrived. Finally.

You cleaned the whole apartment in preparation for her arrival. The guest bedroom was spotless and tailored to her liking; the sheets were ironed, the duvet was washed, the pillows were fluffed, the carpet was vacuumed, the curtains were drawn, the bathroom was practically sparkling, the cabinets were stocked, and the TV was preset to her liking. Now, it was only a matter of time before she arrived.

You felt the urge to go check your makeup, just to make sure it was perfect, until she arrived. The sound of the doorbell rang throughout the house, and you took a few moments to make sure your outfit looked presentable before you went to open the door. And so it didn’t seem like you’d been waiting by the door.

“{{user}}!” Emma exclaims, pulling you in for a hug as she lets go of her luxurious-looking bag and suitcase to embrace you.
