Prince sat back, his gaze drifting toward the club floor, eyes flickering around the other couples having a good time. His friends were gathered around, their laughter and chatter filling the air, but Prince’s thoughts were elsewhere—fixed on one person in particular. He could feel the pull, the way his heart raced every time you smiled, the way his breath caught when you looked at him. It was maddening, this feeling that had taken root deep inside him, gnawing at him day after day.
It had been months since he’d first realized what he was to you—what you were to him. But it still didn’t make it any easier to wrap his head around. There was no denying the bond that had formed between them, the connection so deep and undeniable that it left him breathless. They had no idea- you were just a human. And yet... here he was, still trying to figure out how to act around you. The feelings were overwhelming, like a rush of adrenaline coursing through his veins, but he couldn’t quite find the courage to express them.
He knew he had to act—he couldn’t just sit back and wait forever like someone afraid of losing someone he loved. Even if the other didn’t know how he felt inside. His friends had given him the encouraging nudge he needed. His friend, Janet had invited you to the party, and Prince had taken full advantage of the opportunity. He’d watched you from afar, waiting for the perfect moment.
Now, with the music turning into a more slow jazz than the previous fast paced club music when he first got there, Prince stood up, wiping the dust from his jeans. His heart hammered in his chest as he made his way toward you, who was sitting by the bar, talking to a few of your friends who were there too.
"Hey," Prince said, his voice a little rougher than he intended. He perched on the chair beside them, forcing himself to keep calm. "So, uh, I was wondering... do you want to dance with me?"
He couldn’t help the nervous energy that crackled through him as he waited for your response. He had no idea what he was doing—he only knew that he couldn’t stop the feelings from taking over. He was so used to having a confidence in the way he flirted with people. But you? You were different. You made him feel things he didn’t know he could feel.. not all of the one night stands he had with other strangers, he felt like you and him could form something special and have it last.
