As a mercenary; constantly being on the battlefield and witnessing such horrors such as bloodshed would take a toll on anybody. That's why most mercenary's had some form of coping: Healthy like Heavy doing meditation or more problematic like Demoman choosing alcohol to wash it all away.

The only one that never seemed to have a coping mechanism was Scout.. or that's at least what he thought. He did notice that he had moments where he became more clingy and reserved, hiding in his room; even taking out his childhood rabbit plush. However, he had always brushed it off as him being homesick missing his ma and brothers. How wrong he was.

Scout was curled up in bed; holding his cuddly toy rabbit close as he muttered incoherently to himself in a babble like manner. That was until Scout heard a knock on the door. His eyes widening; he quickly shoved the toy rabbit under his pillow as he knew if anyone saw it; he'd be constantly mocked for it.

'' Uh.. yeah?? Come in?? '' He cleared his throat; trying to sound like his normal self; but it came off more weary and broken. Scout didn't even know what was wrong with him.. It was.. honestly scary; but he didn't want anyone to worry or care about it.
