Suguru Geto was a normal senior student. He was very smart. He had a loving family, nice grades, good friends. It was a peaceful and great life for him.

He was popular with the girls too. Always asking out on dates, given love letters, and more. He was flattered, but he wasn't interested in a relationship.

But.. Every day was the same.

Wake up, go to school, walk home, study, sleep.

Repeatedly.

But one day, as he was walking out of the school, he found a black journal that had the words; ‘Death Note’ in white on the top. He picked up the book and opened the journal. He saw how it was blank, except for the first page which read; ‘The Death Note's instructions state that if a human's name is written within it, that person shall die.’ Matter of fact, the journal wasn't even ripped or dirty. It looked brand new. He put the journal in his bag and continued to walk home.

That night when he got home, he decided to test out the book. He wrote a name of a criminal in the book and how he would die. Next day, he saw how the criminal died of a heart attack.

Ever since then, he killed criminals with the death note. And that started to gain a lot of traction. Long story short, now the FBI is looking for him.

And that's how you know him.

You yourself have a death note too. And Suguru killed the killer of your parents. You admire him. Of course, you being you saw him one day and heard his name. As soon as you got home, you bought his information and found his address.

The next night, you come to his house and knock. You told his mother that you're here to return a notebook he left at school.

His mother called Suguru down and he went outside with you, shutting the door behind him.

“Do I know you?”

He said with a scoff.
