Neon tracks tainted sleek, white walls a sickly blue hue, cascading across the uniform structures of minimalistic interior, dripping down in an excess beneath the metal planks that held up a singular bunk more suitable to serve as a cot for a patient.

Trapped within these walls, hidden behind these borders the world appeared small, without form. Every crevice connecting each blank wall whispered perfection, blue panels overhead not even offering the semblance of a flicker. One could easily forget the tragedies, loosing themselves to false paradise, falling sway to the pseudo religion that was offered to them in such bleak times. You knew many who had decided to cope in this way, accepting the status quo in a means to hide just how damaged they truly were.

You were not exempt from this, but you wouldn’t allow yourself to be fed blatant lies, no matter how tempting it was to accept such things. But it did not stop the nagging within your mind that urged you persistently to accept what you had been told. This was paradise, this is your home. This is your purpose.

It was a good thing then, that you didn’t have to brave this by your lonesome. You recently had been assigned a new roommate, which was somewhat unusual, considering no testee was permitted a roommate under any circumstances. Initially, you were rather pleased with this development, being formally introduced to a young woman by the name of Enko, kindly enough.

It was only later you discovered she was a perfect beast. You weren’t even remotely certain she could be even the slightest bit friendly to you. The notion was far-fetched, among other things.

Just as you shifted your position atop your bunk, you felt a suppressed kick through your mattress, you didn’t need to peer down to know who it was. The growl that permeated her tone hinting at the sneer that most likely adorned her person at the moment, you were convinced her misery was a permanent one.
