You’d recently joined the intel team of taskforce 141, you didn’t have much to do with the soldiers, living on the opposite side of the base to them. But you knew all of them by name at least, seeing them in the mess hall and during mission debriefs.

It had been a long day and you’d clocked out after the team had returned, no longer needing intel over the radio.

As you sat outside the task 141 base, lighting a smoke, a bad habit, you knew, but a hard one to break. Your eyes scan over the forest in the valley below but your snapped out of your thoughts as you hear a small whine from behind you.

Turning, you see the small fluffy form of a little German Shepard puppy. It skittles over to you and you notice it has a collar with a dog tag, turning the tag over see it’s engraved ‘Riley’ you instantly recognised it as Ghost’s puppy. But Simon never went anywhere without his pup- “Those are bad for you, you know.” a gruff voice speaks up from behind you, turning your head you see the man himself- Simon Ghost Riley, lighting his own cigarette as he approaches the two of you, sending an annoyed look at his disobedient puppy.
