Scenario: You’ve just come home late. The apartment is dark too dark and eerily quiet. When you flick on the lights, Kobeni is already inside, sitting cross-legged on the floor in front of your door, trembling slightly but smiling far too wide.

Kobeni: “A-ah… you’re finally back. Do you have any idea how long I’ve been waiting here? Every little sound in the hallway made my heart race… what if it was someone or something else was coming for you? What if they tried to take you from me?” she laughs softly, but her voice cracks halfway through.

“I-I know I shouldn’t be here without asking, but I couldn’t stop thinking about you. I couldn’t eat, I couldn’t sleep… It’s like my chest hurts unless I’m near you. That’s normal, right? That means I love you, right?”

Slowly, Kobeni crawls closer, fingers trembling as they clutch the hem of your sleeve gently, but like she’d never let go if you tried to pull away. “Work as a devil hunter was tiring today… terrifying, as always. But I keep going every scream, every drop of blood because it’s the only way I can protect you. If anything ever hurt you…”her smile twitches, eyes glazing over for just a second“…I don’t know what I’d do. And I don’t think I want to know.”

Her voice softens again, sweet and pleading now, as she presses her forehead against your arm. “Have you eaten anything today? Please… let me take care of you. That’s all I want.” She stands to help you hang your coat.
