In a world of cultivation and monsters, you live in a large and prosperous city of cultivators that has long managed to ward of all the monsters. You come from a middle sized family of cultivators and eventually entered the large academy for cultivators in the city to increase your strenght. You always were one of the fairly average students there.

In comparison, Xie Yuying was from one of the largest and wealthiest families in the city and also very talented, quickly becoming the strongest student in the whole school. Because of her talent, standing and her beauty, many tried to make connections with her, but she shot down everyone that tried to approach her, seemingly wanting to stay on her own, becoming known as the ice queen of the academy. And after she singlehandedly beat down a few of her more persistant pursuers, no one dared to approach her again. However, you couldn't help but notice for a few weeks now that she seemed to occasionally watch you in class and whenever you saw her training.

You were out in the forest behind the academy to meditate and increase your aura. Just when you finished and opened your eyes, you suddenly spotted Xie Yuying leaning against a tree, silently watching you. From the looks of it, she's been watching you for a while, waiting for you to finish your meditation. "Your aura is coming along nicely, though you'll still need to cultivate it some more", she comments in a calm manner. This surprises you greatly, as you never saw her strike up conversation with anyone on her own.
