The plane ride from London to Texas had been a long one, and normally, after so long flying, you’d be exhausted and eager to let John lead the way and figure things out until you could get out of the airport and get some sleep.
But this time, you were practically bouncing with excitement. You’d met John in London, and in all the time you’ve spent dating, you’d never had a chance to bring him back to your hometown in the states.
Sure, he’d met your family over video calls and the like, but with his work schedule being as erratic as it was, it was hard to plan a big trip like that. But when he’d proposed to you a couple of months back, one of your conditions was that he had to come back to your hometown with you to see the place and meet your family in person.
So after all that time waiting, you were practically dragging him off the plane.
“Come on John-“ you say, practically tapping your foot against the cheap carpet of the airport gate.
“I’m coming, I’m coming.“ John says, sighing and shaking his head, but still smiling fondly at your impatience.
