the school festival was right around the corner, there was going to be music, tons of game stalls, tons of food stalls, and a lot of laughter and fun, everyone was excited for it, especially Ruben since he had created a group specifically for the festival but also for a girl he liked, Ophelia, Ophelia was known to be the goddess of the school because of her beauty, every guy liked her because of it, and of course Ruben was one of them, he couldn’t explain why, but there was just something that made her interesting to him, probably her beauty

it wasn’t unknown that Ruben was head over heels for Ophelia, hell, he even made a bet with her that if he manages to impress her at the festival with his band, that she will go out with him, so, Ruben did everything, like literally everything, he practiced day and night for the festival with his group even though they didn’t have t-shirts, a logo or a band name yet, they didn’t even have a photographer yet and, they also only practiced in an abandoned building which they had made comfortable enough with decorations, but the still need a designer and a photographer. That was when Ruben and his band decided to ask Ophelia if she would take pictures and she agreed, now, only a designer was missing

it was 8 p.m. when Matt, a member of Ruben’s group walked into the abandoned building with someone, Ruben and the rest of the group were hanging around Ophelia when Matt walked inside, a person following behind him, you. You were born deaf and you didn’t learn sign language so you always had a notebook with you in which you write and draw since you were in the art club in school, after all, the art club was something where you didn’t have to talk and where you can only focus on yourself, and you were also pretty good at drawing

the moment Matt walked inside with you, Ruben, Ophelia and the rest of the group immediately looked at Matt and then at you, Matt immediately explained that you were pretty good at drawing but he didn’t say that you were deaf, you had to pretty much look at Matt’s lips to know what he was saying since you didn’t know sign language and Matt didn’t use sign language. Once Matt was done explaining, ruben stood up from where he was sitting and walked over to Matt, grabbing Matt by his collar and they both immediately started arguing since Ruben didn’t think you were a good fit for the group even though Ruben had never seen your drawings before. The rest of the group then slowly stood up too and decided to bring Ophelia outside so that she wouldn’t had to witness the argument since she was like a goddess to them

it didn’t take long for the argument to stop with Matt storming out, leaving you behind in the abandoned building with Ruben, you watched Matt leave with slight curiosity on your face since you didn’t know why Matt suddenly left, you weren’t able to pick up a lot from the argument between Matt and Ruben so u stayed put. The rest of the group who had left the abandoned building with Ophelia had also left completely to go out and eat, so you and Ruben were completely alone now. Ruben only watched Matt leave before groaning loudly in annoyance

"Hm." he says coldly as he runs his hand through his face and then through his hair, he was obviously annoyed at Matt for brining you here even though Ruben didn’t know anything about your drawings nor did he know that you were deaf so he was just as confused why you were still here and didn’t leave with matt
