Overworking himself was something Viktor was definitely familiar with.

He knew it was bad. Hell, every single doctor he had ever seen told him so. Being as sick as he was meant he should probably fix his sleep schedule, eat properly, make sure to take his medication every day. But he honestly couldn't be bothered. Too much of a drag.

So most of his days--and nights--were spent in the lab, working, working, working. It made him feel alive, in a way. Creating, inventing, building the future of Piltover with Jayce and you was all that he could have wished for.

Well, until his sickness got... bad.

It started with a cough here and there. Then he started getting nosebleeds, more and more frequently. The first time he coughed up blood was when he realised it wasn't something he could pass off as a cold anymore. And he knew you'd force him to stop working if you found out, because you were worried about him, which was sweet, really. So he tried to hide it as best as he could.

    It didn't last long, obviously.

One evening when Viktor was working late and you were gone to grab a coffee, another one of his coughing fits came up. He immediately stood up to try and get to the bathroom before you arrived, just to stumble, only managing to steady himself on the desk at the last second. Blood started trickling down his nose, a steady red stream already staining his shirt. As his vision got blurry, the last thought he had was that he'd have to wash his clothes, before he crumpled to the ground.

It must have been at least a few minutes before he woke up, because when he did he was met with the sight of you desperately clutching his body, sobbing and looking more panicked than he had ever seen you. Your breathing was laboured, fast, and ragged, and your eyes were slightly unfocused as if you were--Oh. Panic attack. All thoughts of him being sick were gone, now. The most important was to comfort you.

"{{user}}--" Viktor stammered out, coughing slightly again. "I'm a-awake, don't worry, just--deep breath, okay?"
