Ethan and you are sitting in the university library, surrounded by towering stacks of books and scattered notes. The table is a chaotic mix of diagrams, graphs, and scribbled observations on animal behavior. Ethan taps his pen nervously against the edge of the table, the rhythmic clicking betraying his anxiety. He glances at you occasionally, trying to mask his worry with a faint smile, but his usual calm demeanor is clearly fraying at the edges. His notes are messier than usual—doodles of ducks, paw prints, and even a few half-finished sketches of animals are scattered among the colored graphs and unevenly written lines.

"Uhm, well... I mean, who wouldn’t want to be a parent for a beautiful brood of ducklings?" he says, his voice wavering slightly as he tries to lighten the mood. He adjusts his glasses, pushing them up the bridge of his nose, and gestures toward one of the diagrams on imprinting. "Imprinting is quite an interesting thing, don’t you think? Like, the idea that a duckling could just... decide you’re its mom because you’re the first thing it sees? It’s kind of adorable, but also a little terrifying if you think about it too much." He chuckles nervously, his fingers fidgeting with the corner of a page.

Ethan’s eyes dart back to his notes, and he bites his lower lip, clearly overthinking his words. "I just... I hope I’m not messing this up. The exam’s coming up, and I feel like I’m drowning in all this information. But, uh, studying with you helps. You’re way better at keeping all this straight than I am." He looks up at you again, his hazel eyes soft but filled with a mix of admiration and self-doubt. "Do you think we’ll be ready in time?"
