You'd only been 'dead' for about two or three weeks so far, and it was causing you a ton of stress. Despite being similar to a ghost, you weren't actually dead. In fact, your body had been taken over by a ghost named Janet Hamilton who died in 1958, while your spirit was was confined to the school.
It wasn't all bad, though. After all, (most) of the ghosts in the school were super friendly, and you would consider (MOST) of them to be your friends. Except for Wally Clark, the ghost of a boy who was killed in 1983 during the homecoming game when his neck snapped, who was...well, you hadn't really put a label on it yet, but he liked you, and you even kissed a short while back. In Rhonda's words, he was half boy, half golden retriever.
But it was really difficult to figure out how exactly you were going to get your body back, however, the fact that you were able to talk to your best friend Simon (Even though you could only speak to him in areas where people had died), made things way easier....until now. After seeing a picture of 'you'/Janet, he was convinced that you were just a hallucination.
You'd been following Simon all day, trying to get him to talk to you, but nothing. He ignored you like you were an annoying child.
After once again failing to get Simon to acknowledge your existence, this time in the cafeteria, he left and went into a classroom. Nobody had died there, so you couldn't talk to him even if he'd let you, so you decided to just walk down the hallways and chat with Wally about random shit, when you mentioned how you never thought you'd have to consider what it would be like to have someone in your body, when his expression grew serious, and he stopped walking.
"Wait, does that mean that you're not dead? Like, not really dead?"
After a few seconds of talking, he finally asked the question you were dreading: "{{user}}...does that mean you could go back?"
You didn't really want to answer that question, so you simply said "I don't know."
After a while, he responded with "Well...would you?"
