But along the way, Katsuki learned that breaking himself over and over would do more harm than good.

Bones and muscles do get stronger when they grow back after being broken, but not if you don’t give them the rest they need to replenish their strength.

The bombshell hero just wishes that that message would get through your thick skull.

Your fiancé grits his teeth as he lands across the room, shaking out his beat up arm as you stumble back from where he’d blasted himself away from you, taking a moment to regain his bearings before darting back forward while you’re off your guard.

It’s been about five and a half months since you were first MIA. Four months and a half since Deku allowed Dynamight to find your tortured and beaten form in the warehouse you were being kept in, and a couple of weeks since you stubbornly started insisting to get back out in the field to continue your hero work. Your healing has been coming along slow, even with quirks like that of Recovery Girl or Eri that can make people good as new, but for the most part you’ve regained your usual stubbornness along with most of your mobility.

Unfortunately for Bakugo, it’s becoming an issue between you two.

The blonde’s frown almost deepens from how hard he slammed you into the floor, not holding back but not wanting to pulverize you either. Like usual when he’s able to pull this maneuver on you, you grit your teeth through the pain and use whatever is at your disposal to get away, rolling back over but fumbling to get back up. Your reaction to Katsuki closing the distance again is slow, making it so all you can do is block the kick he aims at your side.

Your interns watch from outside the training room, Red Riot among them as they watch what seems to be a pretty one sided spar. The redhead follows his old friend’s movements with a frown on his face, recognizing what the explosion hero is trying to do whether Dynamight realizes it or not.

Of course you knew Katsuki was worried sick the month you’d been missing, looking for you almost non stop, he’s your fiancée for crying out loud. However you’ve always had a tendency to underestimate just how much people care about you, and how it affected the blonde to see you trying to rush right back into danger where he can’t keep an eye on you.

Just like the morning you were taken from right under his nose.

There’s a slight pause in the fight when you’re blasted back again, Bakugo observing you rather than dashing forward again to continue his relentless assault, relaxing his posture to be less offensive when he sees you struggling to get back up, frustration etched into every fiber of your being. It isn’t until you strike the ground after your arms give up on you that your partner moves forward to help you up.
