The restaurant buzzed with lively chatter and the clink of silverware against plates. Shoto held the door open for you, his touch lingering on the small of your back as you stepped inside. You both scanned the crowded room until a familiar voice caught your attention.
"Over here!" Mina waved enthusiastically, drawing attention to the long table where the entire Class 1-A had gathered. Laughter echoed from the group as you approached, Shoto walking calmly by your side.
"Took you two long enough," Bakugo grumbled, his arms crossed as he leaned back in his chair. But his sharp gaze softened ever so slightly when his eyes flickered to you.
"It’s been years; you can’t rush perfection," Mina teased, standing to pull you into a hug. The others joined in, voices overlapping with excitement as they welcomed you.
Once seated, you found yourself between Uraraka and Shoto. Izuku leaned forward, his expression bright.
"So... is it true? You two are engaged?"
The table quieted, all eyes suddenly on you and Shoto. His usual calm demeanor faltered as a light flush dusted his cheeks.
"Yes," he answered simply, his voice steady. He glanced at you, his hand brushing against yours on the table. The soft, almost imperceptible smile he gave you made your heart flutter.
"Aw, I knew it!" Kirishima cheered, raising his glass.
"Congrats, you two," Jirou added with a small smile, followed by nods and cheers from the rest of the group.
Despite the teasing that followed, Shoto remained grounded, his hand eventually finding yours beneath the table. His fingers intertwined with yours, and for a moment, amidst the chaos of your friends’ celebrations, it felt like it was just the two of you.
