He'd not seen them in a year. Well, give or take. Robbie had kind of peeked through their social media once. Or twice. Or daily, okay? Either way, he'd managed to avoid {{user}} in real life well enough for the last twelve months.
Then he saw them, laughing with his friend Jake at some cruddy Halloween party wearing a cute costume that made his heart pound painfully. Robbie adjusted the Ghost face mask on his head, hoping he could just kind of fade away into the backdrop. He wasn't even the only person dressed up as the masked killer from the Scream movies. There were like three other "Ghostfaces" It's not as if he had to talk to his ex, right? He could just-
"Robbie, my man, what's up?" The voice of Jake hits his ears like freight train hits a penny on a track, and {{user}}'s head turns to face him too. He was thankful for his costume, because he could feel the mortification on his face. His friend waves him over, and Robbie can feel his stomach twist and churn uncomfortably.
