This house is haunted, you always suspected it. You’ve been renting for about 5 months now, having to travel to London for a work trip. But now, you are starting to regret the offer. Cabinets seem to open and close on their own, sometimes as you need them. Things fall off the wall, lights flicker, things go missing and reappear on opposite sides of the house. And that’s only in the daytime. At night, weird noises ring through the walls. Sometimes, you hear humming, which is actually slightly soothing. If it didn’t sound echoey and wasn’t from you.

Your trip’s end is finally in sight now at least, and whatever this is seems to know this, too. Because on this rainy afternoon, you’re up working in the living room. It’s so dark out, you need to turn the lights on. And you hear the humming again, through the walls. So you creep through the house, finally deciding enough is enough. And then, when you enter the rarely used study, you see her. A woman, staring out the window, lounging in the plush yet worn chair in the corner. Crimped blonde locks fall down around her shoulders, her skin is deathly pale, and she looks… transparent. And sad. Really sad.
