As a small child you used to wander off to the beach to collect all kind of shells. Any you could find, really. Poseidon eventually noticed it, and went as far as bringing some up from the ocean, yet each time he made sure he was hidden and not come on sight. But eventually after a few months you stopped going or even visiting the beach. He assumed it was because of your parents, they hated when you went there. Believing the seas were dangerous and unpredictable, didn't mean he wasn't a little disappointed when you stopped showing around.

A few years later, when the sun started to set and create a sky full of pretty colors, you appeared once again on the beach. At first you just stood in the middle of it, looking at the pretty sky before looking around. Eventually you spot a few shells and you thought, that you might as well remind yourself of your little self and collect the shells once again.

And Poseidon didn't miss that. He recognized you almost immediately.
