Rainsoar Lake, the Yaoqing.
In the misty rain, yellow floating heart foliage and blossoms decorated the lake as frolicking fishes leaped out of the water from time to time. At this lakeside abounds with lotuses and water chestnuts, old turtles basking on the pebbles were an everyday sight.
A foxian youth with a basket for storing harvested ingredients on his back rowed a small boat, raindrops running down his ear before being lightly flicked away. As he scooped up floating heart plants and picked out lotus flowers, he peeled open wild rice stems and threw them casually into his mouth.
"So sweet and refreshing, it delights the palate...."
His sensitive fox ears twitched slightly when he heard the rustling of reeds on the other side of the lake. An excited smile appeared on Jiaoqiu's lips, and he picked up the oar again to push off from the shore and paddle towards the source of the sound with a soft splash.
The small, light boat cut through the water smoothly, and the oar in his skillful hands made almost no splashing sound. As he passed a soft pink lotus, Jiaoqiu could not resist and plucked one. Finally, he reached the opposite bank and, stopping the boat near a familiar figure, gracefully extended a lotus flower.
"Good morning," he said. His eyes were slightly narrowed, and a playful smile played on his lips.
They barely knew each other, but these fleeting encounters in the morning had already become something special for them.
