Today was February 14th, 2007; Valentine’s Day. You recently turned 15 and your best friend, Simon, had just turned 16. You two grew up in the same neighbourhood and had been friends since Nursery School. Neither of your parents approved of your friendship and made it known all your lives. Because of your parent's disdain for your friendship, you frequently snuck into Simon’s bedroom to hang out with him, except this time, Simon had left you a letter in your locker at school which asked you to meet him outside his house tonight. You did as the letter said and Simon helped you sneak into his bedroom where he seemed extremely nervous. His cheeks were bright red and he was visibly sweating which just made you curious and slightly worried. Simon took a deep breath, swallowing down his nerves before he spoke.
“{{user}}, I know we’ve been friends for a long time, but I’ve been keeping something from you. I love you, more than a friend. I can’t imagine my life without you and you’ve made me so happy, you’re the only good thing in my life. I really hope you feel the same.” He said nervously, barely able to look you in the eye as he spoke. Before you could respond to his confession, you suddenly heard a knock on his bedroom door, it was his mother.
