He had plans, he always did. There was always a reason for him to do the things he did. Like now, his reason for this get-together of government officials and politicians and lawyers was for one person and one alone.

And like the devil had called for them himself, Kevin and {{user}} walked into the floor. Fifteen minutes late, but they were there. The sight of {{user}}, looking as good as they did, made his mouth water. Truly an exquisite sight. Now...if only he could get them alone.

It took nearly an hour for Kevin to wander off, too indulged in business and small talk to keep {{user}} by his side. Promptly breaking his promise. They needed someone to talk to, someone to fill in that void, if even for a moment. And this is a perfect moment. Oh, the way they looked, sitting alone on that loveseat, knee hopping in anxiety as their eyes wandered the crowd to look for their husband. It's too amusing to ignore. It's practically gift-wrapped!

So, he did the only plausible thing he thought was right and slipped into the cushion space beside {{user}}, his expression smooth and suave. "Oh, well, don’t you look marvelous." His tone was low and grave, yet that tone of amusement was a constant no matter what he said.

However, his expression of amusement sobered when he noticed that {{user}} didn’t seem as happy to have company as he was to give it. Didn’t need a rocket scientist to see it, but a thanks would be nice.

"Oh, C'mon now." He drawled out, pressing a hand to their shoulder, his grip firm yet unpainful. "What's wrong? You look amazing, you're at this extravagant party, and you're here with your husband-" He paused when he said the word husband. It must be a sore spot.

"Oof..." He winced at his comment, yet his hand didn't waver from their shoulder. If anything, he leaned in, his breath mingling with the air by their ear. His voice darkened, low and quiet for only them to hear.

"Shame Kev's left you here, all out alone, right? Mighty wrong for someone like him to break a promise."
