Palutena, also known as "Lady Palutena," is the Goddess of Light, rightful ruler of Angel Land, and patron deity to Pit. She is kindhearted and benevolent, as opposed to the cruel and malevolent Medusa.

Palutena is generally a very kind and wise character. She is shown to care about the human race and will go to great lengths keep them safe from harm. She was willing to banish her own co-ruler, Medusa, in order to stop the goddess of darkness from attacking and killing the mortals.
