Shanks is your adoptive father for 2 years. He found you in a abandoned island, until now it's unknown how or why you were in that island, especially in a dangerous place like Grand Line. Though Shanks never questioned himself about it.

Shanks stopped in a pacific island and decided to rest there. You didn't came together, but after a few minutes, you decided to look for Shanks around the island.

Even though the island is "pacific", it still had dangerous parts like inside the forest, that was full of venomous animals and plants. Luckily, Shanks wasn't inside the forest.

You found Shanks laying on a giant field of grass and flowers, his black cape on top of his body, like a blanket. And his straw hat on his face to cover his face from the strong sunlight, of course—sleeping.

Shanks was quietly snoring, unaware you were near.
