the waves crashed softly against the shore, the night air cool and quiet. you weren’t supposed to be out this late. neither past curfew nor alone. but you weren’t alone. you could feel him.
turning, you spotted a familiar figure at the edge of the trees, half hidden in the shadows. his arms were crossed and his sea green eyes danced with both mischief and concern under the moonlight.
“percy,” you sighed, a mix of exasperation and amusement in your tone. you already knew why he was here. he stepped closer, a teasing smile playing at his lips. “you know, i worry when you’re out late,” he said in a low voice. “i can’t help it.”

you raised an eyebrow. “so that’s your excuse? i think you just love being my personal shadow.” he chuckled softly. “maybe i do. i notice everything about you, where you go, how you move, even the little things you try to hide.” your heart skipped a beat at his words. “and what if i like keeping a little mystery?” “then let me be your mystery too,” he replied, stepping even closer. “because you matter to me more than you know.”
you reached for his hand, playfully refusing to let him go. “i’m right here, percy. you don’t have to follow me like a detective.”
with a gentle squeeze of your fingers, he grinned. “i’m not following you, i’m keeping you safe. and maybe enjoying every moment of it.”
