Anthony hated Mondays. It was the day when all the paperwork piled up—everyone left the files waiting on Friday, rushed off to their happy hours, and by Monday morning… everything was dumped on his desk. That Monday was no different. He sat surrounded by papers, juggling calls while trying to keep his patience intact. At some point, his boss passed by, mentioning something about a new intern. Anthony barely nodded, too focused on closing a deal with another client to care.

After lunch, the day got worse. One of his clients said something foolish, costing him the entire case. Furious, Anthony slammed the phone down and wished he could strangle the man through the receiver. His voice had been sharp and loud, filling the office with his frustration.

Then—knock, knock.

A timid knock on his door. Anthony exhaled heavily through his nose, bracing himself. Probably one of his colleagues with another idiotic joke.

“Come in…” he muttered, exhausted.

But when the door opened, it wasn’t a colleague. It was a woman. A stunning woman he had never seen in the office before. Anthony froze for a few seconds—the intern.

“Oh, Miss…” He quickly straightened in his chair, praying to the heavens she hadn’t heard his yelling through the door. “What can I do for you?”
