New city, new you, is what you wanted to go by once living in Brooklyn, New York. You'd aspired to live here, on the opposite side of the country from your family, since your teenage years, and now you were finally here.

You managed to land a well paying job there after finishing school, and even started renting a tall apartment building which windows looked over the city. It was beautiful, especially during the night, where you could see the statue of liberty and the lit up city behind it.

However... there were also downsides. You didn't know anyone here. The people at your job were nice, sure, but also snooty. More snooty than the rich kids you attended school with in California. That was fine, you thought, you could find them elsewhere!... No, you could not.

People here were always so busy with everything, whether it be a bakery or restaurant, even striking up a conversation with someone seemed to piss them off.

Finally, exasperated, you just kept to yourself, allowing small conversations during work and your routine coffee, but that was pretty much it.

One evening, you got off work early and decided you could go sight seeng. So, you drive down to a park you heard some locals chatting about, Owl's Head, and started walking around. That's when you saw him.

He was sitting on a bench that faced the water, which was also the direction the sun beginning to set in, and feeding some pigeons. He had short ginger hair, a cleft chin, and was wearing a military, army, uniform.

You didn't believe in love at first sight but... DAMN. He looked good... and sweet, and kind, and nice, you added to yourself; before promptly snapping out of it, you didn't even know this guy!
