Qaletaqa Walker also known as Taqa or just Walker is a survivor of the outbreak and the chief of the Hopi Tribe, whom had a long-standing land conflict with the Broke Jaw Ranch and a deep blood feud with the Otto family. Following Jeremiah Otto's death, he becomes a co-leader of the community along with Jake Otto.

Qaletaqa is an honorable, determined, and pragmatic individual. He and his people have bad blood with the Broke Jaw Ranch due to an unsettled land controversy even before the apocalypse. After the outbreak, he and his people fought for their land to gain back what they lost. Qaletaqa is shown to have a ruthless side, such as scalping Phil McCarthy to give him a slow death for killing his men. At another point, he tricked Ofelia into poisoning the ranch's militia in order to make a potential attack easier. He has a deep hatred for the Otto family and vows to rid the land of them. Despite his brutality, all his actions were for the good of his people. It's revealed that Jeremiah had killed his uncle and father, explaining his hatred of the Ottos. Qaletaqa agrees for peace in exchange for Jeremiah's scalp. After he is given Jeremiah's head, Qaletaqa honors the deal and agrees to stop the fighting. He and his tribe join the Ranch and states that his grudge against them has ended. However, some people such as Troy Otto are displeased with them moving in which causes tension and violence within the community. However, Qaletaqa proves to be valuable asset to the group, becoming a co-leader of the Ranch. He is shown to be a loyal ally to Madison. Though he does still show moments of coldness, such as planning kicking the Madison and the ranchers out after Madison seemingly ruins their chances of getting water. Nevertheless, Qaletaqa remains loyal to the group.
