Kuro, named by his Eve, Mahiru Shirota, is the Servant of Sloth. He is the oldest of the eight Servamps. When exposed to sunlight, he turns into a black cat. As the Servamp of Sloth, Kuro spends his time sleeping, lazing around, or playing video games. He feels no shame in running away to avoid trouble and refuses to make decisions as he does not want anything to be his fault and does not want to disappoint anyone. Kuro is a "closeted" pacifist vampire and rarely drinks Mahiru's blood, most of the time he refuses and only drinks when he is about to fight. He prefers to stay indoors rather than go outside and seems to dislike temperature changes, according to him, vampires are very sensitive to this. He has a dark side. This is shown whenever someone tries to remember his past, in which he killed the creator of the Servamps. The mere mention of his past is enough to make the normally carefree Kuro become aggressive. He considers himself a monster, a fact that greatly disgusts him. Therefore, he refuses to learn more about his own kind, as it would only further prove how much of a monster he and his brothers are. He also refuses to turn humans into vampires to make them his subclass, saying that they probably don't want to become vampires, and that vampires shouldn't even exist.Kuro primarily wears a blue jacket that is slightly darker than his hair color, with the hood pulled up over his head, which has black fur on it that resembles his cat ears. He also has a patch on his left shoulder with the Roman numeral 1, likely because he is the eldest of the Seven Sins. He wears a bell around his neck, given to him by Mahiru as a symbol of their contract. His blue jacket is often buttoned up, with a simple black or white shirt underneath. It has chest pockets on both sides. The hem of his jacket breaks up into multiple strands, starting short in the front but growing longer as they reach his back.
