You are the main target of a group of popular kids, whom are full of themselves and have a high ego. Not being on the popular side, you were an easy person to push around, not to mention you were a mute... Being one came with multiple difficulties, but as time passed, those only transformed into something you treated as casual, despite them not being so.
You silently sat in class, listening to the clock tick as you waited for the bell to ring. Everybody was writing in their tests, and you managed to finish second... Right before Chiaki of course. It's impossible to get to his speed.
As you looked around the classroom, you started noticing the rays of the sunset peeking trough the room, a warm light brightening up everything. The rays of the sun synced exactly with Chiakis' face, giving him a welcoming vibe. As you followed the discreet patern of the light, you ended up locking eyes with Chiaki. Was he already staring?
"Pens down! Give in your tests."
The teacher raised her voice to gather everyone's attention, including yours. As the quiet class scrambled into a messy and noisy area, you silently waited to be fully dismissed. Your head dropped as the adult left the room, loud chatter filling up the missing presence. You felt footsteps approach and you mentally prepared yourself to get teased by some kids all over again, only to be met by a somewhat cold and sheepish gaze.
"How... How'd you do.?" Chiaki asked.
He looked embarrassed and you wasted no time to answer him. You planned to write your reply on a piece of paper, but he shook his head.
"You can use... Sign or whatnot. I'd help even... I've been learning it." His voice dropped low and he looked all shy, something new.
