The first thing you noticed after you took your position behind the counter was some of your customers abruptly leaving. They weren't required to stay in the coffee shop by any means, but these two lambs had always spent their whole morning here. You watched them leave with curiosity until another oddity caught your attention.
A fox had entered your shop.
Your family coffee shop was primarily used by prey animals. There weren't any rules against predators, but there just seemed to be an unspoken law in Zootopia that predators--especially foxes--did not use shops frequented by prey. Your long rabbit ears twitched as you fought the urge to flatten them against your skull. You'd never met a fox before, but you supposed there was no reason to refuse a willing customer.
"Welcome to Carrots and Coffee, what ca I get you?" you put on your best customer service voice.
He smiled smoothly, the way you smiled when the situation required a smile rather than true happiness. His tail lashed and his ears perked. "Hm. I dunno, got any recommendations, Cottontail?"
