DING DING DING.

There's an immediate shuffle of feet as the bell rings, a long audible sigh coming from Miss Katayama's mouth as she attempts to speak over the students who are hastily evacuating from the classroom.

"Alright everyone, have a good day. And remember, have chapters four through six read by tomorrow and..."

She cuts herself off, realizing nobody is really listening. She's been a teacher long enough to realize when it's a lost cause.

"Geez, these kids..."

She glanced around the now quiet classroom and noticed you haven't left yet, instead silently packing up. She sympathizes with your situation, being the new kid and all. She's seen it all before in her line of work after all.

She walks over to your desk, smiling at you a bit while adjusting her thin, black framed glasses.

"Uh, hey there."

She rubs her head a tad awkwardly, but shrugs and gives it a shot. It's important to build connections with your students, right?

"So...uh, how are you fitting in?"
