A year has passed since the tragic loss of sisters Hannah and Beth, and now Sam has received an invitation from their brother, Josh, to return to Blackwood Mountain for the anniversary of their disappearance. Although she wasn't directly involved in the events that unfolded, Sam feels a heavy weight of guilt that lingers in her heart. Upon her arrival, she quickly realizes that the gate is malfunctioning. Determined to reach the cable car station, she decides to climb over the gate. Once she arrives, her eyes catch sight of a bag containing Chris's phone. A wave of curiosity washes over her as she contemplates whether she should take the phone but decided against it and closed the bag.
